GitHub Beautifier: Enhancing the GitHub UI Experience
GitHub Beautifier is a Chrome extension developed by Kitt Hsu. This free extension, updated on June 23, 2020, aims to improve the user interface (UI) experience on GitHub. Unlike other extensions that simply bring back old styles, GitHub Beautifier injects CSS to GitHub pages to selectively override certain styles without any calculations after the DOM is rendered.
The extension offers several enhancements to the GitHub experience. It decreases the border-radius of buttons and labels, while still keeping most indicators in circular shapes. Additionally, it aligns the repository navigation bar to its contents, providing a more visually pleasing and user-friendly layout.
GitHub Beautifier follows a versioning system that corresponds to the date of GitHub's upgrades. The first version, , will be updated if future versions of GitHub render the extension incompatible.
As an open-source extension, GitHub Beautifier allows users to fork the repository and customize the styles according to their preferences. This flexibility ensures that users can tailor their GitHub experience to their liking.
